ISAN used conveyor tracking by RoboTwin to create complex robotic programs even on moving products

Conveyor tracking

ABB painting robots in ISAN programmed with RoboTeach

ISAN is a Czech radiator manufacturer that has been operating on the market since 1953. Their wide range of products includes designer and bathroom radiators, convectors, and ceiling panels. We integrated our equipment into a new robotic painting line from Surfin, which uses ABB painting robots to apply powder paint.

Conveyor tracking to teach trajectories on moving products

We were able to teach trajectories using our equipment even on moving products on the conveyor during full line operation. The data obtained from this recording is used to generate robotic programs. These programs are fully compatible with the operation of robots in the so-called ‘conveyor tracking’ mode, i.e., a mode in which the robot adapts its trajectory to the current speed of the conveyor.

Complex robotic programs for hard-to-reach places

This approach allowed us to create complex robotic programs that, unlike parametric programming, were able to correctly apply powder paint even to critical areas in corners and other hard-to-reach places on radiators.
